Bullom Stars Edge Freetown City FC to Boost Premier League Survival Hopes

Bullom Stars FC moved closer to securing their Leone Rock Premier League status after defeating already relegated Freetown City FC 1-0 in a Matchweek 33 fixture played at the Approved School Field on Tuesday.

The visitors made a strong start to the encounter and took the lead in the 22nd minute through defender Ibrahim Kamara, who calmly converted to give Bullom Stars an early advantage.

Freetown City FC responded strongly after the break as they searched for an equaliser, creating several opportunities to level the score. Their best chance fell to striker Handovei Tucker, but Bullom Stars goalkeeper Amidu James Kamara produced a crucial save to deny the hosts.

Stars remained organised defensively and managed to withstand late pressure from Freetown City FC to secure a vital clean sheet and three important points.

The win keeps Bullom Stars in the fight to retain their top-flight status with only a few matches remaining in the 2025/26 Leone Rock Premier League season.

For Freetown City FC, the defeat further deepens a difficult campaign after their relegation from Sierra Leone’s top-tier football competition was confirmed.
