AIG Visits PC Kebbie to Strengthen Regional Community Security

In a strategic effort to enhance regional security and strengthen ties with local leadership, the Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) for the Southern Region, Andrew Mustapha Kamara, paid an official courtesy call on Paramount Chief Maada Joe Kpunyeh Kebbie IV of Malen Chiefdom, Pujehun District, on Wednesday.

Accompanied by the Local Unit Commander of the Pujehun Police Division, Mustapha Gogra, and the Regent Chief of Malen Chiefdom, Chief Alex B. Lamin, AIG Kamara emphasized that the visit aimed to build stronger operational collaboration between the Sierra Leone Police (SLP) and traditional leaders to preserve peace, order, and community development across the chiefdom.

During the high-level dialogue, officials addressed pressing issues related to public safety, crime prevention, and the vital role traditional authorities play in assisting law enforcement efforts.

Welcoming the police delegation, Paramount Chief Kebbie expressed deep appreciation for the initiative and highlighted the economic significance of the region, which hosts the SOCFIN Agricultural Company—a major multinational palm oil enterprise.

He stressed that robust cooperation between security agencies, traditional leaders, and residents is essential for safeguarding key economic investments and maintaining law and order.

“Continued dialogue and active cooperation are essential to preventing crime, promoting peaceful coexistence, and building public trust in our security institutions,” Paramount Chief Kebbie stated.

Reaffirming the police force’s dedication to grassroots engagement, AIG Kamara assured community stakeholders that the SLP remains fully committed to working alongside traditional leadership and local key partners to guarantee long-term stability in Pujehun District.

The engagement concluded with a joint pledge to maintain open channels of communication and support continuous safety initiatives tailored to the development needs of Malen Chiefdom.
