AKK Describes President Bio as Sierra Leone’s Most-Travelled President

Lawyer Abdul Karim Kamara (AKK) has described President Julius Maada Bio as “the most-travelled president in the history of Sierra Leone,” citing the head of state’s frequent national and international engagements.

Speaking on AYV, Kamara acknowledged the extent of President Bio’s travel since assuming office, stating that it represents an unprecedented level of engagement in the country’s political history.

While recognizing the President’s travel record, Kamara also expressed concerns about governance, arguing that the SLPP-led government has faced challenges in delivering on certain national priorities.

“The SLPP government has failed Sierra Leone in some areas,” Kamara said, without providing detailed examples during the broadcast. He added that some school subsidies under the government’s Free Quality Education programme have reportedly not been fully disbursed.

Kamara’s remarks come amid ongoing public debate about President Bio’s leadership style, policy priorities, and balance between international engagements and domestic governance. His comments highlight both the visibility of the President’s activities and concerns raised by sections of the public regarding government performance.

As of the time of reporting, no official response has been issued by the Office of the President concerning Kamara’s statements.
