Allegations of Interference in the Tombo Electrification Project

Moses Mambu, the National Publicity Secretary of the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP), has formally accused Kasho Holland Cole, Chairman of the Western Area Rural District Council, of obstructing the electrification initiative in Tombo.

During a broadcast on Epic Radio, Mr. Mambu asserted that the unauthorized removal of utility poles by individuals allegedly acting under the Chairman's direction directly hindered the government's capacity to extend the power grid to the community.

He contended that the SLPP administration would have successfully completed the project if not for this reported interference.

While these claims suggest that local administrative actions have contributed to utility delays, independent verification remains unavailable.

The electrification of underserved regions like Tombo continues to be a strategic priority for the national government.

As of the current reporting, Chairman Kasho Holland Cole has not issued a formal statement in response to these allegations.
