Political commentator Dr. Victor Moinina has expressed significant concerns regarding the governance trajectory of President Julius Maada Bio’s administration, questioning the consistency between current policies and the promises made during the last election campaign.

Speaking during a recent interview on Rise Radio 96.3FM, Dr. Moinina characterized remarks made by the President during a recent engagement in Makeni as noteworthy, particularly those concerning national unity and political relations across ethnic groups. He suggested that the Presidency may be experiencing a "disconnect" from the daily hardships faced by citizens, theorizing that the information reaching the President may not accurately reflect public sentiment.

While Dr. Moinina stopped short of labeling the administration a "total failure," he argued that the government has yet to deliver the strategic actions that many citizens were anticipating. He further asserted that several current governance practices appear to contradict positions held by the ruling party while they were in the opposition.

As a primary example of this shift, Dr. Moinina pointed to the government’s integration of diaspora figures into senior roles, including the Chief Minister. He argued that the current administration is now implementing the very practices they previously campaigned against, marking a clear reversal of earlier political messaging.

Dr. Moinina concluded his critique by emphasizing that these observations raise broader questions about the necessity for greater alignment between campaign-period rhetoric and actual governance delivery.
