The All People’s Congress (APC) has formally announced a series of high-level strategic consultations with its Members of Parliament and Local Council officials. These meetings follow the party’s recent decision to withdraw from active participation in governance processes, a move aimed at addressing prevailing political challenges in Sierra Leone.
In a public notice issued on 8 March 2026, National Secretary-General Lansana Dumbuya detailed the schedule for these critical engagements. The inaugural session, dedicated to sitting and prospective Members of Parliament, is slated for Wednesday, 11 March 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the APC National Secretariat.
This will be followed by a secondary consultative meeting on Thursday, 12 March 2026, involving elected Local Council officials and those awaiting confirmation. Both sessions serve as vital components of the party’s internal strategy to solidify a unified position and strengthen collective resolve regarding the withdrawal mandate.
The leadership emphasized that these discussions are pivotal for defending democratic accountability and upholding the public will. By fostering internal unity and principled leadership, the APC aims to navigate the current political landscape while safeguarding the interests of the Sierra Leonean people.
All designated officials are urged to attend promptly, as the outcomes of these deliberations will directly inform the party’s subsequent course of action in its ongoing commitment to democratic integrity.
