APC Eastern Region Holds High-Level Security Meeting Ahead of Lower-Level Elections

In preparation for the All People’s Congress (APC) Lower-Level Elections in the Eastern Region, a high-level coordination meeting was held on Thursday, 5th February 2026, at the Provincial Secretary’s Office, Maxwell Khobie Street, Kenema. The meeting was convened as a proactive measure to ensure a peaceful, transparent, and orderly conduct of the upcoming internal party elections.


The meeting brought together the APC executive and key security stakeholders to discuss the modalities of the election process, including voter registration procedures, eligibility criteria, designated polling venues, and the roles of security agencies in maintaining law and order.


All matters presented were thoroughly deliberated and clarified, providing an opportunity to anticipate potential challenges and implement preventive measures to avoid disturbances before, during, and after the elections. The engagement was described as timely and significant, strengthening collaboration between political leadership and the security sector in safeguarding democratic processes in the region.



The meeting was chaired by Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) Mr. Francis Brima Meinday, who commended the APC leadership for their commitment to transparency and cooperation with security authorities. He emphasized the importance of strict adherence to the law, urging all stakeholders to prioritize peace and unity over violence.


Also in attendance were Local Unit Commander (LUC) Kenema Division, Chief Superintendent Emmanuel Kpulun, representatives from the Political Parties Registration Commission (PPRC), the Office of National Security (ONS), Campaign for Democratic Centre (CDC), and members of the APC executive in Kenema.


Both AIG Meinday and CSP Kpulun reaffirmed their commitment to providing professional and impartial security coverage to ensure the elections are conducted in a safe and peaceful environment.
