The leadership of the All People’s Congress (APC) has received formal and unanimous ratification from its parliamentary and local government representatives concerning the strategic resolution to suspend all high-level diplomatic engagements with the Government of Sierra Leone.
This mandate was consolidated following a series of high-level consultative sessions convened at the APC National Secretariat in Freetown. These deliberations, held on the 11th and 12th of March, inclusive of Members of Parliament and executive local government leadership, served to unify the party’s institutional stance across all administrative tiers.
The assembly reaffirmed its steadfast commitment to the party’s directive, predicated upon the administration’s continued failure to implement the essential recommendations of the Tripartite Committee. The party maintains that such reforms are non-negotiable prerequisites for the restoration of electoral integrity and democratic transparency.
The APC underscores that this collective position is a defense of the sovereign will of the Sierra Leonean electorate. It serves as a necessary response to the 2023 electoral cycle, which was significantly marred by procedural irregularities, necessitating a principled stand against the subversion of democratic accountability.
The National Secretariat formally acknowledges the discipline and institutional solidarity demonstrated by its elected officials. Such cohesion reinforces the APC’s status as a preeminent political institution dedicated to the preservation of constitutional governance and the protection of the people’s mandate.
The leadership exhorts its constituents and the broader public to maintain composure and unity as the party employs all available legal and democratic mechanisms to ensure the respect of the popular will. Official communiqués regarding subsequent developments will be disseminated through established party protocols.
