Ibrahim Bangura, one of the flagbearer aspirants of the All People’s Congress (APC), has donated motorbikes to eleven constituency chairladies in Kenema as part of efforts to support grassroots mobilization and promote inclusive politics.
The presentation was made during his district engagement tour at the party’s office in Kenema, where he met with party members and supporters.
Addressing an enthusiastic gathering, Dr. Bangura said his political ambition is driven by a desire to bring meaningful change to the country, stressing that his approach goes beyond symbolic gestures to practical support for key actors within the party.
“Today, I’m talking about politics. I am running for the flagbearer position of the APC Party because I want to change this country for the better,” he declared.
He emphasized that his vision for Sierra Leone prioritizes inclusivity and social responsibility, particularly for vulnerable groups. “I want to help the women and children of Sierra Leone, as they remain the most vulnerable in our society,” he said.
Dr. Bangura described Sierra Leone as a country of great promise and expressed his personal commitment to its development and unity.
He also commended supporters of his movement in the district, noting that their continued backing serves as a source of motivation for his campaign.
Highlighting the importance of gender inclusion, he stated that the donation of motorbikes was aimed at strengthening the operational capacity of female political leaders across constituencies, enabling them to effectively carry out mobilization activities.
The APC aspirant further called for unity within the party and across the country, urging supporters to reject divisive narratives. “We are one party and one family. Tribal rhetorics cannot and will not divide us. The country is supreme,” he emphasized.
He appealed to party members to support his bid for the flagbearer position, expressing confidence in securing a clear mandate. “My campaign is a winning campaign. Together, we can secure victory and bring meaningful change,” he added.
Dr. Bangura also assured party stakeholders of his commitment to ongoing internal processes, including the upcoming lower-level conventions.
The event concluded with renewed enthusiasm among supporters, many of whom described the initiative as a practical step toward strengthening grassroots leadership and enhancing women’s participation in politics across Kenema District.
