In the wake of dissatisfaction regarding electioneering activities for the June 24th elections, the All People's Congress party has issued a position paper, stating that they will not be pursuing legal redress to their own raised concerns relating to unfair practices such as vote tampering and lack of transparency in result collation. This decision they wrote, was reached due to a lack of trust in the judicial system.
The party statement which alleged a lack of judicial independence, outlined situations of unassigned cases and outstanding matters in the court, which they perceived as deliberate neglect.
Consequently, the party calls for the resignation of the Chief Justice, as it is dependent on this, that the party might consider the possibility of a fair dispensation of Justice.
The party asserts their decision to abstain therein in governance, in lieu of a court resolution.
