Proceedings in the assault case involving Ibrahim Sorie Koroma were adjourned at the Pademba Road Court No. 2 after the second prosecution witness (PW2) failed to appear before the court.
The matter, presided over by Magistrate John Manso Fornah, could not proceed as scheduled due to the absence of the witness, prompting the court to halt further hearing.
In response, Magistrate Fornah ordered that a subpoena be issued to ensure the attendance of the missing prosecution witness at the next sitting. He stressed the importance of the witness’s testimony to the progression of the case.
Contrary to earlier reports, the accused was not granted bail during the session. Court proceedings were scheduled for hearing but were disrupted due to the witness’s non-appearance.
The case involves charges of Assault Occasioning Actual Bodily Harm, contrary to Section 47 of the Offences Against the Person Act of 1861. At the request of the prosecution, the matter has now been adjourned to April 15, 2026.
Meanwhile, medical evidence obtained from Lumley Health Center was tendered in court and marked as Exhibit “Z”.
The court is expected to resume full proceedings on the next adjourned date, with the defendant Kaota Turay also expected to be part of the continued hearing process.
