A 25-year-old barber and a 35-year-old contractor appeared before Magistrate Gbloh at the Pademba Road Magistrate Court, facing charges of timber theft and unlawfully receiving stolen property.
The individuals, Ibrahim Kamara and Victor Nelson Macauley, were brought before Magistrate Mary Julian Gbloh on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, to answer to charges related to the theft and receipt of stolen timber.
The accused, Kamara and Macauley, were charged with larceny and receiving stolen goods.
The charges arise from an incident on July 10, 2025, at Smith Drive, Leicester Village, in the Mountain Rural District of Freetown.
Prosecutors claim that Kamara stole timber valued at 18,200 Leones, comprising one hundred 2x3 and ten 2x6 timber pieces, owned by John Bangura.
Furthermore, Macauley is accused of receiving twelve 2x3 timber pieces, valued at 720 Leones, with knowledge of their stolen status.
Upon hearing the charges, Kamara pleaded guilty, while Macauley entered a plea of not guilty.

Magistrate Gbloh denied bail for Macauley, remanding him into custody at the male correctional facility in Freetown. Kamara was also remanded pending further proceedings. The case has been adjourned to July 25, 2025.
