Hafia FC's title aspirations in the Guinea Ligue 1 received a significant boost this weekend following a hard-fought 1-0 victory over ASFAG (Association Sportive des Forces Armées de Guinée). This result marks consecutive wins for the "Babickas," solidifying their position among the league's top contenders.
Sierra Leonean international Samuel Bekoe was instrumental in the disciplined performance. Operating in a deep-lying playmaker role, Bekoe showcased his midfield mastery, effectively transitioning the ball from defense to attack. His tactical intelligence and work rate provided the essential defensive screen, successfully neutralizing ASFAG's counter-attacks and securing the team’s clean sheet.
The solitary goal in the second half delivered the three points, yet it was the collective defensive effort, anchored by Bekoe’s influence in the center of the park, that prevented the resilient opposition from finding an equalizer.
This crucial victory follows a recent 1-0 win against RCC Kamsar and propels Hafia FC to 26 points. The club is now level with rivals Milo FC and Horoya AC at the league's summit, setting the stage for an intense title race.
Since his arrival, Bekoe has proven to be a vital asset, earning the trust of the technical staff and the admiration of the Hafia faithful.
