A formal commemorative event was hosted at the British High Commissioner’s Residence in Freetown, presided over by Field Marshal Lord David Richards, to recognize the courage and historical contributions of Commonwealth service members.
The ceremony convened distinguished military veterans and their families, celebrating their service and the enduring partnership between the United Kingdom and Sierra Leone.
Of particular significance was the attendance of three veterans aged 92, 104, and 106. Their presence underscored a profound legacy of resilience and served to reinforce the historical military ties that continue to bind the two nations.
