Central One Football Association Elects New Executive, Confirms Cline-Cole as Chairman

The Central One Football Association (COFA) has successfully concluded its elective congress, ushering in a new executive team to lead the association for the next two years.
The congress, held on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at the Parade Grounds, brought together delegates and key stakeholders in a process that combined both consensus and competitive elections across various positions.
Incumbent interim leader, Philipson Cline-Cole, was officially confirmed as Chairman after running unopposed. His confirmation transitions him from interim leadership to a full mandate, placing him at the helm of football development initiatives within the association for the 2026–2028 term.
Out of the eight executive positions contested, five were filled unopposed, while three key roles Vice Chairman, Financial Secretary, and Organizing Secretary were decided through voting.
In the race for Vice Chairman, Mohamed Yapo Sillah secured victory with 18 votes, defeating Alhaji Mohamed Mansur Alghali, who garnered 9 votes. Andrew Quentin Charles emerged as Financial Secretary with a decisive 19 votes, beating Ibrahim Kamara, who polled 8 votes. Meanwhile, Issa Sesay won the position of Organizing Secretary with 15 votes, overcoming Alghali Mohamed Sanu, who received 11 votes.

In his post-election remarks, Chairman Cline-Cole commended members for conducting a peaceful and democratic process. He expressed appreciation for the confidence reposed in him and pledged to work collaboratively with the new executive to advance the association’s objectives.
He further disclosed that the Organizing Committee has already commenced preparations for an enhanced and more competitive Inter-Community Championship in the upcoming season, signaling a renewed focus on grassroots football development within the Central One community.
