Chief Minister Sengeh Challenges APC’s Electoral Preparedness for 2028

Chief Minister David Moinina Sengeh has publicly questioned the preparedness of the opposition All People’s Congress (APC) for the 2028 general elections.

In a recent interview on Liberty Online TV, Sengeh asserted that the APC lacks the foundational elements necessary for governance, specifically citing an absence of coherent vision, policy direction, organizational structure, and effective leadership.

Sengeh reaffirmed the ruling administration’s commitment to advancing President Julius Maada Bio’s established agenda. While acknowledging the APC's right to contest the upcoming election, he maintained that the opposition party remains fundamentally unpositioned to assume power.

Characterizing the necessary profile for Sierra Leone’s next leader, Sengeh called for a "progressive, social democratic, and visionary" approach, emphasizing the need for a candidate who is energetic, experienced, and results-oriented.

He further challenged the APC to demonstrate its internal leadership capacity, specifically questioning which members currently possess the requisite executive experience to lead the nation.

These comments arrive as political maneuvering intensifies in advance of the 2028 electoral cycle, with both major parties actively defining their political narratives.
