Chief Minister Sengeh Equips SLPP Secretaries with Laptops and Scholarships in Digital Drive

Chief Minister Dr. David Moinina Sengeh has delivered over 25 laptop computers to district and regional secretaries of the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) as part of an ongoing commitment to bolster human capital and digital capacity within the party administration.
Speaking at the SLPP headquarters, Chief Minister Sengeh characterized the initiative as a key milestone under his priority of empowering party structures.
"When I say the SLPP is a radically inclusive human capital political party, it’s not a policy statement—it’s who we are and it’s what we do," Sengeh asserted, reinforcing his commitment with his personalized version of the party’s slogan, “Together #WeWillDeliver.”
To ensure immediate utility, each laptop is paired with an internet modem containing a one-year subscription, facilitated through the assistance of Madam Salima Monorma Bah. Additionally, the beneficiaries completed an introductory computer literacy training program designed by Mr. Jasper Patrick Sembie to help them maximize the new digital tools.
This digital empowerment initiative builds on several key human capital investments Sengeh has sponsored over the past six months for SLPP administrative secretaries. These include:
Full Scholarships: Awarded to constituency-level secretaries and above who are pursuing undergraduate programs.
Partial Scholarships: 50% tuition coverage for those pursuing graduate and post-graduate studies (Master’s and Doctoral degrees) both locally and internationally.
Organizational Support: Funding for the National Association of Constituency Secretaries to host a national planning conference.
The handover event was attended by high-ranking party figures, including SLPP National Chairman Sir Jimmy Batilo Songa, various elected officials, and over 100 grassroots supporters. Highlighting the need for continued administrative strengthening, National Chairman Songa called for further support for party workers.
In response, Chief Minister Sengeh pledged an additional five desktop computers for headquarter staff and 10 laptops for national officers to further streamline the party's coordination and administrative capacity across its nationwide grassroots networks.
