A building contractor, Mohamed Mansaray, 44, alias Kolo, has been remanded in custody after being arraigned for allegedly stealing a graduation gown, a television, and other valuables, including Le 18,600 cash, collectively valued at Le 53,900, from a residence in Freetown, the property of Chrispin Kargbo.
The contractor appeared before Magistrate Mary Julian Gbloh of Pademba Road Court No. 5, facing two counts of conspiracy to commit a crime, and housebreaking and larceny.
According to police allegations, between 1st and 30th October 2025, the defendant conspired with others unknown to break into the dwelling house of Chrispin Kargbo at Mansaray Drive, Regent Village, Mountain Rural District, Western Area, Freetown, and steal the items. The stolen property included Le 18,600, one 32-inch black plasma television, one graduation gown, and other assorted items.
No plea was taken because the matter is a preliminary investigation. The prosecutor, Sergeant 9906 Umu Jalloh, served the defendant with the relevant documents. The accused was not legally represented.
Magistrate Gbloh refused bail and remanded the building contractor at the Male Correctional Facility in Freetown. The matter has been adjourned to 23rd December 2025 for further proceedings.
