Dr. Martin Salia Family Foundation Establishes Senior Secondary School in Kailahun District

The Dr. Martin Salia Family Foundation (D.M.S.F.F.) has taken a major step in advancing education in Njaluahun Chiefdom, Kailahun District, with the establishment of a Senior Secondary School at Kamajor Camp.

The foundation began its educational initiatives in September 2023, starting with a Nursery, Primary, and Junior Secondary School at the same location. Over the past three years, the schools have achieved notable academic success, earning recognition and support from the local community.

Following this success, community members requested the establishment of a senior secondary school to reduce the burden on children seeking higher education. Previously, students had to travel four to five miles across the River Moa to access senior secondary education, presenting significant challenges and risks.

“It was as a result of these challenges that the establishment of the Senior Secondary School became necessary,” the foundation stated, emphasizing its commitment to addressing educational gaps in the community.

The foundation’s management, under the leadership of Dr. Martin Salia, has ensured that the new school meets all standards for quality education, including:

• Trained and qualified teachers

• Spacious classrooms and learning environment

• Adequate WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) facilities

• Playground and recreational areas

The foundation emphasized that these provisions aim to promote safe learning and deliver high-quality education, providing students with the tools they need to thrive academically and socially.

The move is seen as a significant milestone for education in Njaluahun Chiefdom, reflecting the foundation’s long-term commitment to enhancing learning opportunities and supporting the development of young people in Kailahun District.
