Chief Minister Dr. David Moinina Sengeh has urged the Ministry of Technical and Higher Education (MTHE) to set clear, measurable, and time-bound targets to boost accountability and strengthen education delivery across Sierra Leone.

Speaking at a Strategic Delivery Clinic at State House, Dr. Sengeh emphasized the necessity of trackable goals to support the Seven-Year National Development Plan.

The clinic brought together senior officials, including Deputy Minister Sarjoh Aziz-Kamara, to review the ministry's 12-month priorities and resolve implementation challenges alongside key government bodies.

MTHE presented an ambitious agenda spanning sustainable financing, digital transformation, policy reforms, and infrastructure expansion. Key deliverables include converting five Government Technical Institutes into Community Technical Colleges by 2027 in partnership with the Mastercard Foundation, as well as advancing renewable energy integration.

Major projects feature a new medical school in Bo designed for 1,200 students and a specialised School of Mining at Fourah Bay College (FBC) developed with FG Gold.

Additionally, preparations are underway for FBC's bicentenary, alongside plans for a Tertiary Education Commission Secretariat and the ongoing development of the University of Science and Technology in Kono.
