The National Secretary General of the All People’s Congress (APC), Lansana Dumbuya, has publicly dismissed the notion of being regarded as a hero, asserting that his function is purely one of service to the party under the Acting Chairman’s leadership.

Addressing his recent detention at Pademba Road, Mr. Dumbuya stated that his actions did not warrant heroic status. “I am merely an ordinary servant working for the APC under the leadership of the Acting Chairman,” he explained. “I do not wish for anyone to classify me as a hero, and I will never pursue such recognition.”

Mr. Dumbuya’s comments underscore a commitment to humility and loyalty to the party, prioritizing service delivery over personal accolades.

This statement is issued amid heightened media scrutiny following his time in custody, which generated considerable public discussion regarding his position and treatment within the party across social and traditional media platforms. Mr. Dumbuya has consistently maintained that his primary focus remains on supporting the APC and executing his assigned party responsibilities.
