East End Lions secured a vital 2-0 victory over Luawa FC on Thursday, 21st May 2026, at the Approved School Playing Field in Matchweek 27 of the Leone Rock Premier League, thanks to a brace from Sulaiman S. Kargbo.
The in-form forward opened the scoring in the 17th minute after connecting with a precise assist from Musa Bangura, calmly finishing to give East End Lions an early advantage.
Despite Luawa FC’s efforts to respond, the Lions maintained a disciplined defensive structure and posed constant threats on the counterattack, controlling much of the contest.
The match remained finely balanced until stoppage time, when Kargbo struck again to complete his double, converting from a well-timed pass by George Mattar to seal all three points for the visitors.
The result moves East End Lions temporarily into 7th position on 37 points with a +7 goal difference, narrowly edging FC Kallon, who still have a game in hand against Old Edwardians.
For Luawa FC, the defeat deepens their struggles as they remain 16th on 26 points, increasing pressure in the relegation battle as the season progresses.
East End Lions will next host Wusum Stars in their upcoming fixture, while Luawa FC travel to the SLFA Academy to face Bhantal FC in their next league encounter.
