SLIFA FC and Kamboi Eagles shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw in a tightly contested Matchweek 27 encounter of the 2025/26 Leone Rock Premier League at the SLFA Academy Playing Field on Thursday.
The visitors, Kamboi Eagles, made a bright start and broke the deadlock in the 18th minute through Mohamed Barrie, who finished clinically to silence the home supporters. The early goal gave the Eagles momentum, as they controlled significant spells of the first half with composed and structured play.
SLIFA FC, however, returned from the interval with greater intensity and attacking intent. Their pressure eventually paid off in the 57th minute when Abubakarr Kargbo rose highest to head home the equaliser from a precise cross delivered by Santigie Fornah, restoring parity for the home side.
The equaliser set up a competitive and physical final half-hour, with both teams pushing for a decisive winner. The match grew increasingly tense, reflected in cautions issued to SLIFA’s Sallu S. Conteh in the 84th minute and Kamboi Eagles’ Fallah Fayombo shortly after.
Despite late efforts from both sides, neither team was able to find a winning goal, and the match ended level at full-time.
Kamboi Eagles midfielder Mohamed Lamin Musa was named Man of the Match following a commanding and influential performance in midfield.
While both sides will feel they could have secured maximum points, the result underscores the growing competitiveness of the Leone Rock Premier League as the season enters its decisive stage.
