Eastern Region Football Association Concludes FIFA/SLFA Connect Seminar

The Eastern Region Football Association (ERFA) successfully concluded a two-day FIFA Connect Seminar in Kenema, Eastern Sierra Leone. The well-attended event brought together Division I and II club officials from the Kailahun, Kenema, and Kono districts.
Lead Facilitator, Sampha Hassan Kamara, underscored the critical importance of club officials adhering to FIFA Standard Regulations, specifically emphasizing the requirement for live documentation of all active football players. Mr. Kamara highlighted that the implementation of FIFA Connect has ensured the successful and protest-free operation of both the Sierra Leone Men's and Women's Premier Leagues, enabling clubs to maintain a standardized structure for player registration.
Sorie Ibrahim Sesay, Director of Competitions, focused on aligning the Sierra Leone Football Ecosystem with CAF and FIFA standards. He advised club officials to strictly adhere to the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) Calendar. Furthermore, Mr. Sesay stipulated that Division I and II clubs are required to complete the FIFA Connect registration process prior to the commencement of the various upcoming competitions, including the FA Cup and the respective Division I and II leagues.
The Acting Chairman of the ERFA commended the facilitators for the concise delivery of the two-day seminar, which ran from Wednesday, January 21st, to Thursday, January 22nd, 2026. Foday Anthony expressed gratitude to the SLFA President, Babadi Kamara, for decentralizing the seminar to ensure broad accessibility and benefit. Mr. Anthony encouraged participants to prioritize the knowledge gained and ensure its effective implementation.
In his closing remarks, Abu Bakarr Sidikie Kallon, Secretary of the ERFA, thanked all attendees for their presence despite various challenges. He joined the Chairman in extending appreciation to SLFA staff members Sorie Ibrahim Sesay and Sampha Hassan Kamara for successfully imparting the new ecosystem knowledge to football officials in the region.
The seminar concluded with practical sessions utilizing computer laptops and other electronic devices, allowing participants hands-on experience with the system.
