ECSL Invites APC Leadership to 2028 Election Engagement Meetings

The Electoral Commission for Sierra Leone (ECSL), led by Chief Electoral Commissioner and Chairman Edmond Sylvester Alpha, has formally invited the opposition All People’s Congress (APC) to a series of engagement meetings as part of efforts to strengthen collaboration with political stakeholders ahead of the 2028 General Elections.

In a letter addressed to the party’s leadership, Mr. Alpha reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring that the Commission operates with fairness, professionalism, and inclusivity.

According to the letter, the engagement is intended to present the Commission’s strategic roadmap, provide updates on ongoing activities, and outline the Chairman’s vision for electoral management in Sierra Leone. Political parties have been invited to schedule meetings at the ECSL headquarters between Monday, 23 March and Friday, 10 April 2026, at their convenience.

Mr. Alpha emphasized the importance of working closely with all registered political parties to strengthen public confidence in the electoral process and ensure transparent preparations for the upcoming elections.

The outreach follows Mr. Alpha’s recent assumption of office as Chief Electoral Commissioner, Chairman, and National Returning Officer of the ECSL, highlighting his intention to promote dialogue and inclusivity across the political spectrum.
