ECSL Updates Stakeholders on Progress of Tripartite Committee Reforms

The Electoral Commission for Sierra Leone (ECSL) convened with key political and civil stakeholders on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, to provide a progress report on the implementation of 54 election-related recommendations derived from the Tripartite Committee Report.

The briefing, held in Freetown, was led by the Chief Electoral Commissioner and Chairman of the ECSL, supported by the Commission’s management team and fellow commissioners. Attendees included representatives from the All People’s Congress (APC), the Independent Commission for Peace and National Cohesion (ICPNC), and members of the National Moral Guarantors of the Cross-Party Committee.

During the session, the ECSL outlined the current status of these 54 recommendations—a core segment of the 80 total proposals included in the Tripartite Committee Report. The presentation detailed the steps taken thus far and ongoing initiatives designed to support robust electoral reform.

The ECSL leadership emphasized that this engagement is central to the Commission's commitment to transparency, accountability, and continuous dialogue. By fostering an inclusive environment for political parties and national stakeholders, the Commission aims to rebuild public confidence and ensure that the electoral reform process is both transparent and widely accepted.
