An unidentified individual was fatally electrocuted last night while attempting to illegally dismantle a solar street light panel located on Nyandeyama Road, adjacent to the Ministry of Social Welfare office.
Preliminary onsite reports indicate that the solar-powered unit was installed within the proximity of high-tension EDSA transmission lines. It is alleged that the individual came into contact with a high-voltage cable during the attempted removal, resulting in immediate cardiac arrest and death at the scene.
The site currently remains unsecured, and the deceased is located at the point of the incident. The event has attracted significant public attention from local residents and commuters.
Emergency services and relevant law enforcement authorities have been notified and are requested to secure the perimeter, facilitate the recovery of the body, and initiate a formal investigation into the circumstances surrounding the breach of infrastructure.
Further updates will be issued as official information is confirmed by investigators.
