FBC Reaffirms Ban on Student Club Activities After Campus Violence

Fourah Bay College (FBC), a constituent college of the University of Sierra Leone, has reiterated its ban on all student club activities following recent incidents of violence on campus.

In a notice issued on 2 May 2026, the College Administration described disturbances that occurred on 30 April and 1 May as a matter of grave concern, prompting the continuation of strict restrictions on organized student engagements.

The ban covers all forms of club-related activities, including gatherings, processions, chanting, and other organized group actions under student clubs. The administration stressed that the “existing ban on all student club activities remains in full force.”

Students have been directed to fully comply with the directive, with authorities warning that any violation will attract firm disciplinary action in line with the college’s rules and regulations.

Meanwhile, the campus remains under full security coverage provided by the Sierra Leone Police through its Western Area Regional Command, as investigations continue to identify and bring those responsible for the violence to justice.

College authorities have called for calm and urged students to cooperate in maintaining peace, order, and a safe academic environment.
