FIFA, SLFA Begin Three-Day Workshop on Grassroots Football Development

The Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA), in collaboration with FIFA, has commenced a three-day stakeholder engagement programme focused on the presentation of the FIFA Amateur Football Environment Analysis Country Report at the SLFA Secretariat in Freetown.

The initiative forms part of FIFA’s global effort to assess and strengthen amateur and grassroots football structures worldwide, with the aim of identifying opportunities for growth in key areas such as football management, competitions, club development, education, futsal, beach soccer, mini-football, and school football.

The engagement brings together football administrators, technical experts, government representatives, educational institutions, clubs, academies, and other stakeholders to review findings from the country report and develop strategies to increase participation and expand access to football across Sierra Leone.

FIFA Regional Technical Consultants Ali Mwebe and Serame Ezekiel Letsoaka are leading the technical discussions and interactive sessions, working alongside SLFA officials and members of the local football community.

The programme underscores the shared commitment of FIFA and the SLFA to strengthening grassroots football structures, creating sustainable development pathways, and ensuring that football remains accessible to people of all ages and backgrounds in Sierra Leone.

Through this engagement, stakeholders are expected to contribute to shaping the future of amateur football in the country while laying the foundation for long-term growth and broader participation in the sport nationwide.
