Four New Players Earn Leone Stars Call-Ups for Liberia Friendly

Four new players have been named in the Sierra Leone national team squad ahead of the upcoming international friendly matches against Liberia, in what is seen as another step in strengthening competition within the team and rewarding standout domestic performances.

The latest call-ups include Mohamed B. Kargbo of Old Edwardians FC, Ernest Koroma (Dija) of Bhantal FC, Mohamed Fofanah (Fastest) of East End Lions, and Sampha Kamara of Bai Bureh Warriors.

Kargbo earns his place in the squad following a series of impressive performances between the posts, where his shot-stopping ability and commanding presence have made him one of the most reliable goalkeepers in the domestic league.

Ernest Koroma receives his first national team call-up after consistently delivering strong performances at left-back. His defensive solidity, high work rate, and willingness to support attacking play have been key features of his game this season.

Mohamed Fofanah has also been rewarded for his versatility and consistent displays. Known for his pace and determination, he is capable of operating in multiple positions, adding depth and flexibility to the national team setup.

Sampha Kamara completes the list of new entrants after an impressive campaign in the league. The Bai Bureh Warriors winger has stood out for his creativity, vision, and attacking flair in the final third, making him one of the more exciting young attacking options in domestic football.

The call-ups highlight the continued recognition of emerging talent from the Leone Rock Premier League, as the technical team looks to broaden the pool of players available for international duty.

Should any of the four players feature in the upcoming fixture against Liberia, they will be in line to make their senior debut for the Leone Stars, marking a significant milestone in their professional careers.
