Leone Stars Caretaker Coach John Keister Announces Squad for Liberia Friendlies

Leone Stars Caretaker Head Coach John Keister has announced his squad for Sierra Leone’s upcoming international friendly matches against Liberia during the June FIFA international window.

According to the SLFA, the squad comprises a blend of experienced internationals and emerging young talents, reflecting the coaching staff’s strategy of building a competitive and balanced team ahead of future assignments, including the qualification campaign for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

The friendly fixtures are expected to provide an important platform for the technical team to evaluate player performances, strengthen team cohesion, and fine-tune tactical approaches as Leone Stars continue preparations for upcoming international competitions.

Sierra Leone will host Liberia in the first match on 6 June 2026 at the Southern Arena in Bo City. The Leone Stars will then travel to Monrovia for the return leg, scheduled for 9 June 2026 at the SKD Sports Complex.

The encounters are anticipated to offer valuable competitive experience for both established and emerging players as the national team seeks to build momentum ahead of future continental assignments.
