A devastating overnight fire has razed the Siena Patso Primary and Secondary School at Fudia Terrace, Spur Loop, forcing more than 500 pupils out of their classrooms and indefinitely halting academic operations at the prominent local landmark.

The blaze, which occurred during the critical national examination season, has left students preparing for the NPSE, BECE, and WASSCE in a state of academic limbo. Following a preliminary assessment of the damage—which includes collapsed roofing, scorched structural walls, and the total loss of furniture and instructional materials—school authorities have instructed all students to remain home until further notice.

On-site observations the morning after the incident revealed families and faculty surveying the remains of exercise books and desks reduced to ash. Parents expressed urgent concerns regarding the status of national exam entries and the immediate lack of alternative testing centers for those scheduled to sit for high-stakes certifications in the coming weeks.

Educational stakeholders and humanitarian organizations are now calling for a rapid response to provide temporary learning spaces. Proposals include the utilization of community centers, church halls, or modular tents to ensure that the current cohort of students does not suffer a permanent setback in their educational progression.

While no casualties have been officially reported, the material loss to the institution is significant. Community leaders are urging government agencies and examination bodies to implement contingency plans immediately to accommodate the displaced candidates and facilitate the eventual reconstruction of the Fudia Terrace facility.
