Five Former Orange Sierra Leone Employees Face 11 Counts of Cyber Fraud, Larceny

Five employees of Orange Sierra Leone Limited Foday Turay, Amadu Koroma, Mohamed Kamara, Cecilia Amara, and Marie Sesay appeared before Magistrate Sao Mamakoh Betty Kallon of the Freetown Magistrate Court No. 3, facing 11 counts of conspiracy, larceny, and cyber fraud amounting to NLe 4,278,662.

The charges allege that between January 1, 2024, and August 10, 2025, the accused conspired to defraud their employer by illegally accessing Orange’s computer systems and diverting funds through electronic transfers.

The prosecution claims Turay stole NLe 2,453,647 using SIM number +23278407365; Koroma stole NLe 1,051,438 via two SIM cards; Kamara took NLe 259,832; Amara diverted NLe 156,031; and Sesay stole NLe 357,714.

They face charges under the Cyber Security and Crime Act, 2021, for unauthorized system access, data interception, and computer fraud.

After the charges were read, no plea was taken because the matter is before the court for preliminary investigation.

Prosecutor ASP Kamara requested a short adjournment, citing an incomplete investigation file.

Despite the defense’s bail application, which referenced credible sureties, Magistrate Kallon denied bail, citing the seriousness of the offenses. The case has been adjourned to Tuesday, 11th November 2025, pending further investigation.
