The National Football Coaches Association Sierra Leone has conducted elections for the Eastern Region Coaches Association Chairman, with voting held on Saturday, 10 October 2026, at the Kenema City Field Pavilion and a designated venue in Kono District.

The election brought together football stakeholders, including representatives of the National Football Coaches Association Sierra Leone, Eastern Region Football Association (ERFA) Secretary AbuBakarr Sadiq Kallon, Kenema District Football Association (KDFA) Secretary General Umaru Sallu Sawaneh, Youth Football Assistant Secretary Mohamed Sheku, a representative of Kamboi Eagles FC, and coaches.

Voting was conducted at two centres to accommodate delegates from the three Eastern Region districts. Delegates from Kenema and Kailahun voted in Kenema, while those from Kono voted in Kono District. Chief Electoral Commissioner Coach John Dominic Konneh Jr. announced the results from both centres.

In Kenema and Kailahun, Coach Ishmael Kallon, popularly known as Mikel, secured 17 votes against Coach Fodie Bao, known as BA Man, who received 13 votes from 30 delegates. In Kono, Bao won 16 votes, while Kallon received two votes from 18 delegates.

The overall results showed Bao winning with 29 votes, while Kallon obtained 19 votes, out of 48 delegates across the three districts.

A similar election was held in Freetown for the Western Area Coaches Association, where Coach Tamba received 38 votes against Coach Ivan Cole’s five votes. The elections form part of efforts to determine leadership representation within the country’s football coaching fraternity.
