Former Sierra Leonean Footballer Lamin Bangura Dies in Accident




Lamin Bangura, a former Sierra Leonean international football defender and head coach of Ports Authority, tragically passed away after a fatal accident on the Bo highway. Lamin Bangura later passed away at the Rokupa Hospital in freetown.



He was en route to honor a scheduled fixture against Kahunla Rangers in the ongoing Leone Rock Premier League.


Bangura was a highly revered figure in Sierra Leonean football, having represented the national team, the Leone Stars. 


He also led Diamond Stars to victory in the 2013 Sierra Leone Premier League, leaving a lasting legacy on the sport in his home country.


Other members of the team who were uninjured are en-route to Freetown.
