Goshen College has named Ishmael Bangura as the Male Rookie of the Year. Bangura was a key contributor to the Goshen College team, which finished the 2023 season with an impressive record and a berth in the College's Tournament. He is widely considered by Goshen College as one of its brightest prospects.
"Ishmael is a special player," said Goshen College head coach Jeff Philips. "He has a lot of talent and a great work ethic. He is a great addition to our program."
Bangura is one of the many Goshen College players to be named the Male Rookie of the Year in 2023 and the first Sierra Leonean basketball star to be named Goshen College player of the year.
