Government Warns NPSE, BECE and WASSCE Candidates Against Examination Malpractice

The Government of Sierra Leone has cautioned candidates preparing for the NPSE, BECE, and WASSCE examinations against engaging in examination malpractice, urging students to rely on hard work and honesty.

In a public notice issued by the Ministry of Information and Civic Education, candidates were encouraged to prepare adequately for their examinations and avoid involvement in activities such as exam leakage and cheating.

“Study hard. Trust wetin yu study. No ball. No leakage. No missile,” the notice stated.

The Ministry stressed that examination malpractice undermines the integrity of the country’s education system and negatively affects the future of students.

“Pass your exams with honesty and honour. Examination malpractice destroys futures and weakens the value of education in Sierra Leone,” the statement added.

Candidates were further encouraged to sit their examinations cleanly, believe in themselves, and depend on genuine preparation rather than illegal shortcuts.

The message forms part of ongoing public awareness efforts aimed at promoting integrity, discipline, and fairness during the national examination period.

Using a popular youth expression, the Ministry concluded its message by stating: “Real gee dae study — na spy man dae fen ball.”
