Local Unit Commander Chief Superintendent of Police John Borboh Koroma conducted a familiarisation visit to Harbour Police Station on Tuesday, 27 October 2026, emphasizing the vital role of community engagement in ensuring long-term public safety.

Upon his arrival at the College Road facility, CSP Koroma was received by Officer Commanding Chief Inspector Komba. During an inspection of the station, the commander conferred with key officers, including Deputy Inspector Samurai and Divisional Traffic Officer Assistant Superintendent Fatmata, to review local operational challenges.

As part of the visit, CSP Koroma met with Water Quay security director Umarr Sesay and other local stakeholders. Sesay welcomed the engagement, expressing optimism that addressing persistent community concerns would significantly aid in crime prevention.

Highlighting the primary objectives of community policing, officials noted that direct dialogue allows law enforcement to better target emerging risks, traffic management, and safety concerns unique to the Harbour area.

Authorities stressed that public cooperation remains essential to proactive policing. Active collaboration from residents and business owners facilitates timely information sharing and conflict resolution before issues escalate.

"Community policing is about taking responsibility for one's locality and understanding the needs of those who live and work there," CSP Koroma stated following the meetings, committing to address the issues raised by stakeholders.

While the visit marks an encouraging step toward stronger police-community relations, local leaders noted that long-term success will rely on sustained dialogue and concrete follow-up actions across the division.
