Ibrahim Christopher Bah, a 27-year-old cinematographer, has been remanded to the Freetown Male Correctional Centre. The defendant faces four counts, including perverting the course of justice, misuse of a digital device, and the fraudulent manipulation of computer data.
The order for remand was issued by Magistrate Mustapha Brima Jah at Pademba Road Court No. 1, pending further judicial proceedings.
The allegations pertain to an incident occurring on April 30, 2026, at Wilberforce Barracks in Freetown. It is alleged that the defendant utilized a Samsung A6 mobile device to intentionally deceive senior government officials, specifically targeting Major General Ngaujah.
Prosecution records indicate that Mr. Bah employed a software application to generate a fraudulent WhatsApp group titled "United APC" for the purpose of disseminating misinformation.
Additional charges include the unauthorized alteration and input of data on a mobile device for unlawful objectives.
During the preliminary hearing, the defendant did not enter a plea. Chief Superintendent of Police Tommy B. Zizer confirmed the formal service of the witness statement, which the defendant acknowledged.
Magistrate Jah denied bail, citing the severity of the charges.
The matter is adjourned until June 10, 2026.
