A 28-year-old manager at the Blue Moon Ice Cream Company has been remanded at the Male Correctional Facility in Freetown following his initial court appearance regarding the alleged embezzlement of over Le103,000 in company funds.

The accused, Alhaji Kallon, faces three counts of embezzlement under Section 17(1)(b) of the Larceny Act of 1916. The charges stem from transactions in December 2025 at the company’s premises on Sunday Street, Calaba Town, where Kallon was entrusted with collecting payments on behalf of the business.

According to charge sheets presented in court, Kallon allegedly misappropriated three separate sums—Le7,863, Le88,177, and Le7,786—totaling Le103,826.

The charges were formally read at Pademba Road Court No. 1 before Magistrate Mustapha Briama Jah. No plea was entered, as the matter is currently proceeding through committal hearings.

Prosecuting Officer Police Constable 17649 Brima Kargbo confirmed to the court that the defense had been served with the complete case and inquiry file.

Citing the gravity of the charges, Magistrate Jah denied bail and ordered the defendant held in custody.

The preliminary investigation has been adjourned to October 21, 2026, for further proceedings.
