Jagaban Donates 120 Solar Lights to Kenema District and Eastern Technical University

The Jagaban Movement has presented 120 solar lights to the people of Kenema District, benefiting all 11 constituencies and the Eastern Technical University (ETU). The presentation ceremony took place on Saturday at the All People’s Congress (APC) party office in Kenema, drawing key party executives, community leaders, and student representatives.

The event commenced with interfaith prayers, followed by introductions of the distinguished entourage by Comrade Davido, Deputy Spokesman of the Jagaban Movement. Prominent delegation members present included Alhaji Sheik Sengeh, Team Hold Me Tight Leader Madam Asanatu Marrah, Dean Rogers (ADC to Jagaban), Michael Kargbo, Global Ambassador-at-Large Comrade Ibrahim Kamara (Paska), Samuel Active Conteh, and Chairman Aruna Koroma. 

Welcome remarks were delivered by Prince Edward Bindi Jnr, following introductions of local constituency and ward executives by APC District PRO John Sevallie.

Speakers at the ceremony expressed strong support for the movement’s leader, Sheik Alhaji Mohamed Omodu Kamara (popularly known as Jagaban). Representing the constituency chairmen, Almamy Bai Sesay commended Jagaban’s practical and workable manifesto, noting his widespread household recognition across Sierra Leone.

Additional endorsements came from party veteran Mohamed Kamara (LUC) and women's representative Aunty Kula Sesay. Chairman Ensah Kajuah emphasized the need for positive political change and urged strong unity between the Kenema and Kailahun districts. Representing the youth, Comrade Abubakar Jalloh urged young people to move beyond divisive politics and embrace a new political direction.

A representative from the ETU Students' Union praised Jagaban's dedication to student welfare, while a representative from the Jagaban Computer Centre appealed for additional support, requesting training certificates and computers to help graduates establish independent businesses and gain economic self-reliance.

APC District Chairman Prince S. Kamara (Osonso) highlighted Jagaban’s deep family ties to the party, describing him as a problem-solver who understands the nation's core challenges. Declaring Kenema as Jagaban’s home, he urged supporters to stay focused on the 2028 political transition.

In his keynote address, Sheik Alhaji Mohamed Omodu Kamara formally handed over the solar lights, stating that access to electricity is a fundamental right rather than a privilege. He reiterated his movement's ongoing commitment to empowering local communities, supporting students, and uplifting youth across the region.
