In a major boost to their squad, Manchester United Women have officially confirmed the signing of Swedish international forward Monica Jusu Bah. The 23-year-old attacker joins the Red Devils from Swedish powerhouses BK Häcken, taking a monumental step forward in her rising football career.
The club finalized the transfer on August 28, 2026, assigning Jusu Bah the number 23 shirt. Known for her electrifying pace and direct attacking style, she is expected to bring dynamic energy to United’s Women's Super League (WSL) campaign.
Jusu Bah’s move to England follows an impressive tenure at BK Häcken, where she developed into one of the team's most formidable offensive threats. Across more than 100 appearances in all competitions, she racked up 32 goals and 15 assists.
Her standout season came in 2025, during which she scored 10 goals and provided four assists in 26 Damallsvenskan appearances, playing a pivotal role in Häcken securing the Swedish league championship. She also proved her caliber on the continental stage, netting three goals and providing one assist in eight UEFA Women’s Europa Cup matches, helping Häcken claim the European title during their 2025/26 campaign.
Before her successful stint at Häcken, which began in 2023, Jusu Bah launched her senior career with Umeå IK, where she first established her reputation as a highly promising young talent. Her strong momentum continued into the 2026 Damallsvenskan season, where she recorded four goals and three assists in 15 appearances prior to her transfer.
Jusu Bah’s club success has seamlessly translated to the international arena. After representing Sweden at various youth levels, she earned her senior national-team debut against Bosnia and Herzegovina in February 2024. By the time of her transfer to Manchester United, she had already amassed 11 senior caps for Sweden.
Beyond its impact on the pitch, Jusu Bah’s transfer carries immense cultural significance. Born to family of Sierra Leonean descent, her transition to one of the world’s most recognizable football clubs has sparked widespread excitement among football fans in Sierra Leone. Supporters across the nation are expected to closely follow her journey as she embarks on this new chapter in the WSL.
With her combination of speed, championship experience, and raw talent, Monica Jusu Bah is primed to make a major impact in English football.
