Pujehun Residents Call for Urgent Rehabilitation of PDEC Pavilion

Residents of Pujehun Town have called on the Pujehun District Council to urgently rehabilitate the Pujehun District Education Committee (PDEC) Pavilion, which they say has deteriorated significantly and is no longer in suitable condition for public gatherings and community activities.

Located in Pujehun Town, the PDEC Pavilion has over the years served as an important venue for meetings, educational programmes, community engagements, training sessions and other public activities.

However, residents say the facility is now in a dilapidated state, raising concerns about its safety, appearance and continued usability.

According to some residents, the condition of the pavilion has affected activities held there, particularly during the rainy season. They noted that several damaged sections of the building require urgent attention to prevent further deterioration.

They are therefore appealing to the Pujehun District Council and other relevant stakeholders to prioritise the rehabilitation of the facility, saying its restoration would provide the district with a safer and more conducive space for public meetings, educational programmes and community development activities.

The residents also called for proper maintenance arrangements to be put in place following the rehabilitation to ensure the pavilion remains functional and serves the community for years to come.

They expressed hope that the Council will consider their concerns and take concrete steps to rehabilitate the PDEC Pavilion as part of broader efforts to improve public infrastructure and service delivery in Pujehun District.
