The Jagaban Rural Agricultural Foundation (SL) has officially commenced local garri production in Masiaka Town, Koya Chiefdom. This milestone represents a strategic effort to enhance regional agricultural output and advance food processing capabilities within the sector.
Initial production yields are designated for quality demonstration purposes and will not be available for commercial sale. However, subsequent batches are scheduled for public release at competitive price points, ensuring that high-quality staple food remains accessible to the residents of Masiaka and its surrounding communities.
This project is part of a comprehensive initiative by the Foundation to stimulate local agribusiness, modernize food processing infrastructure in Sierra Leone, and bolster national food security by providing affordable essential commodities.
The initiative is spearheaded by Mohamed Omodu Kamara, widely known as "Jagaban," a prominent figure and APC flagbearer aspirant committed to regional development.
The launch of this production facility is regarded as a significant contribution toward promoting sustainable agriculture, supporting localized value chains, and improving food availability across the region.
