Jagaban Pledges 30 Solar Street Lights for Brookfields Communit

All People’s Congress (APC) flagbearer aspirant, Sheikh Alhaji Mohamed Omodu Kamara, popularly known as Jagaban, has pledged to donate 30 solar street lights to the Brookfields community during a ceremony held to honour one of the 20 Muslims he sponsored for the 2026 Hajj pilgrimage.

The event took place on Friday, 3 July 2026, at Bass Street, Brookfields, in recognition of Alhaji Sama-Saray Pawo Ballay Kamara, who successfully completed the 2026 Hajj pilgrimage in Mecca, Saudi Arabia.

The ceremony opened with prayers led by Chief Imam Sahid Kargbo of Masjid Quba, Tengbeh Town, who thanked Jagaban for his support and prayed for continued guidance, protection, and blessings upon him.

Speaking on behalf of the community, Abubakarr Conteh expressed appreciation for previously donated solar street lights, noting that they had improved security and visibility in the area. He also appealed for support to replace about 20 solar lights reportedly stolen.

In response, Jagaban pledged to provide 30 additional solar street lights to further enhance security and lighting in Brookfields.

Jagaban’s spokesperson, Saidu Gibril Buzzom Kamara, introduced him at the event and, on behalf of the Kamara family, presented a certificate of recognition to Alhaji Sama-Saray Pawo Ballay Kamara for completing the pilgrimage.

Receiving the honour, the pilgrim expressed gratitude to Jagaban and attendees, describing Hajj as one of Islam’s greatest pillars that strengthens faith, purifies the soul, and brings believers closer to Allah. He prayed for the acceptance of all pilgrims’ worship and for safe journeys for future pilgrims.

Addressing the gathering, Jagaban reaffirmed his commitment to community development through initiatives aimed at improving both spiritual and social well-being.

“Investing in the spiritual well-being of the people is just as important as promoting education, infrastructure, and community development,” he said.

Community elders, women stakeholders, and residents offered prayers for Jagaban, asking for continued guidance and protection in his future endeavors.
