Kabala City and Other Rising Stars Set for Orange FA Cup Round of 32

Kabala City FC held their nerve at Yogomaia Field in Kabala, edging past Pac FC 2-1 in a thrilling Orange FA Cup encounter that had all the hallmarks of high-stakes cup football. From the opening whistle to the final kick, Kabala City displayed discipline and determination, securing their place in the next phase of the competition and carrying the pride of Koinadugu into the national spotlight.

District action across the country saw equally dramatic outcomes. Gbindi FC narrowly defeated Falaba Lions 1-0, demonstrating patience and tactical discipline. In Bombali, Northern Stars survived a 1-1 draw against Sahid Conteh-U, ultimately prevailing 5-3 in a tense penalty shootout that tested the composure of every player. Meanwhile, Kholifa Stars in Tonkolili edged Golden Dragons 1-0 in a hard-fought battle that reflected the intensity of cup football at the grassroots level.

The Orange FA Cup is known for stripping football to its rawest form – no second chances, no hesitation, only players rising to the moment and communities holding their breath with every attack.

In addition to glory, each qualifying side will receive a financial boost of NLe 15,000 from Orange Sierra Leone, a support that will help district champions prepare for matches against bigger, more experienced opponents.

The next chapter of the competition begins on April 9, when these rising sides will join eighteen Premier League teams in the national stage. The Round of 32 draw, scheduled for April 4 in Freetown, will set the stage for what promises to be a thrilling showdown.

For now, the spotlight belongs to the players – the scorers, the shot-stoppers, and the penalty heroes – who have earned their place in the competition. If the opening rounds are any indication, the next stage of the Orange FA Cup will not just be football; it will be theatre.
