Sierra Leone’s Entertainment Ambassador, the prominent rapper Kao Denero, recently stated that his exceptional self-assurance regarding his artistic abilities is often perceived as a source of tension among his peers in the music industry.

In a recent media interview, he elaborated that this high degree of confidence can be a barrier for other musicians when it comes to collaboration or moving outside their established creative parameters, as they may find it challenging to operate at his level of conviction.

He noted, “Most artists have issues with it. They are not about to get out of their skin, out of their comfort zone.”

Kao further explained that his inherent confidence allows him to maintain an open approach to collaboration, fostering various mentorships and creative partnerships. “Being very confident and knowing what I am doing is why I am able to open up and work with any artist,” he affirmed.

He also emphasized the enduring professional relationships he has cultivated, highlighting that many artists he has mentored over the years remain a reciprocal source of inspiration. “Those people are the ear to the street for me,” he added, underscoring the vital connection he maintains with his team and mentees.

Kao concluded that his distinctive combination of confidence and professional openness differentiates him, enabling him to engage in widespread collaboration while other artists remain constrained by their reluctance to step beyond their personal comfort zones.
