KenDSU Concludes Free Quality Summer School in Kenema

The Kenema District Students Union National (KenDSU) officially marked the grand finale of its Free Quality Summer School on Saturday, 29th August 2026.
The vibrant closing ceremony, hosted at the Holy Trinity Parish Hall on Blama Road, brought together a diverse audience of benefiting pupils, volunteer teachers, proud parents, key education stakeholders, and distinguished community leaders.
Designed to maximize academic preparedness during the holiday break, the initiative provided critical learning support to help students strengthen their foundational knowledge and remain productively engaged outside the formal school term. The initiative highlights KenDSU's ongoing dedication to promoting equitable access to quality education and personal growth across the Kenema District.
A major highlight of the event was an inspiring keynote address by Ing. Mariwan Kallon of the Guma Valley Water Company. Addressing the audience, Ing. Kallon stressed the crucial roles of discipline, determination, and continuous learning in paving the way for future academic and professional triumphs.
His participation offered students a valuable opportunity to engage with and take inspiration from a leading professional in Sierra Leone's water and infrastructure sector.
Throughout the ceremony, educators and parents reflected on the shared duty of nurturing young minds. Speakers urged the students to carry forward the discipline and knowledge acquired during the summer sessions as they transition back to their regular school routines.
