KenDSU Leads Environmental Health Awareness Walk In Kenema

The Kenema District Students’ Union National (KenDSU), under the leadership of National President Madam Sandra Cowan, has taken to the streets of Kenema to conduct an Environmental Health Awareness Walk aimed at promoting cleanliness and public health across the township.

The awareness exercise brought together students, teachers and other stakeholders, with participants using music, a public address system and Bubu dancing to engage residents and draw attention to the importance of maintaining a clean environment.

According to the organisers, the initiative is focused on raising public awareness about environmental cleanliness, responsible waste management and the need for communities to take collective responsibility for protecting public health.

Through the walk, KenDSU is encouraging residents to properly dispose of waste and play an active role in keeping their surroundings clean, healthy and safe.

The union said the campaign forms part of its efforts to promote positive environmental practices and encourage greater community participation in addressing sanitation challenges in Kenema.

The awareness message was summed up by the campaign’s slogan: “Clean Environment, Healthy Community!”
