His Worship Magistrate George B. Samai, presiding over Magistrate Court No. 2 in Kenema, has handed down a two-year prison sentence to Momoh Forwai following his conviction for larceny.

Forwai was arraigned on a single count of larceny as a bailee, contrary to Section 2 of the Larceny Act 1916. Court Registrar Emmanuel Cooper read the charges, detailing that on June 9, 2026, at Fallah-wahun Section in Kamara Town, on the outskirts of Kenema City, the defendant stole a red TVS HLX 125 motorbike (Registration No. AYM 727) valued at NLe 3,900, belonging to Alhaji Soko.

Upon pleading guilty and pleading for leniency, Forwai was committed to the Sierra Leone Correctional Centre (SLCC) in Kenema to serve his two-year term. The case was prosecuted by PC 19204 Swaray Andrew Amara.

In a separate proceeding, ten men—Moiwo Korjie, Abubakarr Mustapha, Mustapha Kamara, Lansana Dauda, Lansana Kennie, Abdul Turay, Jusu Moigua, Ibrahim Abdulai, Saidu Kamara, and Sheku Mustapha—were remanded in custody at the SLCC in Kenema after pleading guilty to unlawful assembly.

According to Registrar Cooper, the ten defendants were apprehended on August 13, 2026, at Talama village, Lower Bambara Chiefdom, in the Kenema Judicial District, where they were found gathered without legal authority.

Magistrate Samai ordered the now-convicted individuals remanded pending record compilation and sentencing. Prosecuted by PC 13536 Moseray Sylvester Alfred, the matter was adjourned to August 24, 2026.
